Nutritious purees!

This month, Baby Food Chef Leng Swee serves up some interesting combinations of fruits and vegetables to make some uniquely delectable baby purees!

 

Spinach, peas and pear puree

INGREDIENTS

1 large pear; peeled, cored and cut to cubes

1 teaspoon of frozen peas; skin removed

5 leaves of spinach

PREPARATION

1. Boil pear with half a cup of water for 20 minutes.

2. In a steamer, steam the peas and spinach for about 5 minutes.

3. Combine all ingredients in a food processor and blend until reach smooth consistency. Add water from steamer as necessary

 

Carrot and apple puree

INGREDIENTS

1 medium apple; peeled, cored and cut to cubes

1 carrot; peeled and cut to cubes.

PREPARATION

1. Boil apple with half a cup of water for 20 minutes.

2. In a steamer, steam carrots for about 15 minutes until tender.

3. Combine both ingredients in a food processor and blend to a smooth consistency. Add water from steamer as necessary.

 

Apple and broccoli puree

INGREDIENTS

1 medium apple; peeled, cored and cut to cubes

1 floret of broccoli

PREPARATION

1. Boil apple with half a cup of water for 20 minutes.

2. In a steamer, steam broccoli for about 5 minutes until tender.

3. Combine both ingredients in a food processor and blend to a smooth consistency. Add water from steamer as necessary.
