A tragic incident unfolded in a flat in Bandar Tun Razak, where a six-year-old girl lost her life due to suspected abuse and neglect at the hands of her babysitter.

Cheras district police chief Asst Comm Zam Halim Jamaluddin revealed that the local victim was rushed to Tunku Azizah Hospital in an unconscious state around 3:40 p.m. on Saturday.

Unfortunately, the child was pronounced dead on the same day.

Investigations point towards abuse and neglect by her entrusted caregiver.

Preliminary findings suggest that on the day of the incident, the victim was sleeping in her room while her father briefly stepped out to purchase food.

Upon his return, the father was horrified to find his child unconscious.

Investigations are still ongoing and no arrests have been made so far.

The victim’s body has been forwarded to Hospital Kuala Lumpur’s forensic department for a post-mortem examination to shed light on the circumstances surrounding her tragic demise.
