Father – A son’s first hero and a daughter’s first love. With Father’s Day approaching this Sunday, the search for a special something for beloved daddy is definitely on, right? Finding the perfect gift for a father can be difficult because your kids may not know what their dad actually likes.

Don’t get too worked up about it. Whatever they give to their father, he will undoubtedly appreciate and value it. So, if you’re still looking for ways for your kids to show dad how much they appreciate him, here are a few suggestions.

1. Give Daddy a One-of-a-Kind T-shirt

There are numerous daddy t-shirt designs available today, and you can easily help your kids to choose and purchase one online. From unique photos to funny wordings and best daddy quotes, they’re sure to find one that suits their dad. All of you can also get matching t-shirts to wear together on Father’s Day!

2. Plan an Outdoor Activity Together

Where should you and the kids take their dad on Father’s Day? Easy! Just do whatever he likes. It could be taking him fishing, hiking, bowling, shopping, or even camping. Or if he’s more of an indoor person, perhaps even just spending the day gaming or watching movies as a family at home. He’ll be overjoyed that you’re all willing to take part in his favourite activity and want to spend the day with him. It’s a great way to make the father feel special while also spending quality time with him.

3. Take Lots of Cute and Funny Photos Together

Photos are the best way to capture memories. Take as many photos as you can of whatever your kids are doing with their dad, whether it’s going out or staying in for a movie. To make it extra special, teach your kids to create photo books using an online service, or print out the photos and place them in a scrapbook as a gift for their daddy.

4. Surprise Meal at His Favourite Place

Plan a surprise for the man of the family at his favourite restaurant or café with the help of your kids. Make a reservation to ensure that a table is available for your family. You can even request to put up some decorations to make it more exciting. Just don’t forget to add Father’s Day balloons and cake to the surprise!

5. Cook a Special Meal for Papa

Do your kids know what their father likes to eat and drink? If not, you can tell them what they are and teach your kids how to make the dishes. Then allow your kids to prepare the meal for Father’s Day. If you’re feeling particularly creative, help your kids to use food decoration to elevate the meal. Their papa will be mesmerised by their efforts.

6. Leave Thoughtful Messages All Day Long

Let the dad know how much the kids love him by sending him sweet and thoughtful messages like,

  • “Dad—you’ve made my life so much better. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.”
  • “Where would I be without you as my dad? I’m so grateful for you. Happy Father’s Day.”
  • “Thank you for all the ways you go above and beyond every day.”

Your kids can send the messages via mobile or write them down on paper. They can also give daddy several messages throughout the day to express how grateful they are to have him in their lives.

7. Create a Video Just for Dad

Instead of sending messages like the ones above, you can go the extra mile by making a Father’s Day video of your kids. Aside from making a video of them just talking and wishing him a Happy Father’s Day, you could also make a skit to make it more interesting.

8. Ask Daddy What He Wants to Do

When you don’t know what to do or where to go, it’s best to get the kids to ask their dad. Allow him to decide how he wants to spend the day and what items on his wish list you and the kids can possibly make come true for him. It’s best to ask him early so you have plenty of time to plan ahead.

Most Importantly, Tell Daddy “I Love You”
