Thank you for taking the time to chat with us! Can you share some of your latest insights with us?

Right now, I’m working on a TV series titled ‘Takdir Cinta Dhia‘. I also have a new movie to be filmed after Hari Raya Aidilfitri with actor-turned-director Syamsul Yusof, ‘KL Gangster 3‘.

What is your secret to always keeping fit and healthy?

*laughs* I’m not sure if ‘fit’ and ‘healthy’ are the right words. It’s all on the exterior of how I look. But on the inside, as you may or may not have heard, I have a condition with my neck and spine. So, for me, it’s all about the basics of strengthening my body. As I’m aging, I just want to be able to keep up with my health. My routine to taking good care of myself is to exercise three times a week, cut off sugar, no more late-night coffee—especially the 3-in-1s, which I used to drink. My cut off meal time is at 9 p.m. every day. If I get thirsty these days, plain water works for me.

Any healthy snacks that you are into since you cut off sugar?

Honestly, I’m not a snack person. But if I were to dig in for some healthy snacks, I prefer dates and figs because of their natural sugar content.

(We definitely think dates are the best option now that Ramadan season is approaching. It will be great for mummies and daddies to try out dates during the month of Ramadan like how Dato Aaron Aziz does).

What is your favourite workout routine that you can share with our readers who aspire to look like you?

My favourite workout routine is push-ups! That’s the main core for our body. I believe in any profession, doing push-ups is important. You don’t really have to go to the gym to do them. You can do push-ups in the comfort of your home, workplace or anywhere you go.

What is the best dish that you can cook at home?

Noodles. *laughs* Actually, I don’t really cook. However, if I were to cook, it means I’m helping my children to do so or whenever they prepare meals. I will offer a helping hand to my children when they are cooking. My son who is away in Japan for his studies loves to cook. My eldest daughter loves to bake and my youngest knows how to make juices. All three of them make the perfect trio in the kitchen. When they go to the pasar (market), they know exactly what ingredients to pick.

If you were to indulge your sweet tooth, what is your favourite ice cream flavour?

Jamoca Almond Fudge. *laughs* It’s not so much about that particular flavour though. In general, chocolate is my favourite ice cream flavour.

You have a loyal fan base (Aaronators) who have been supporting you from Day 1. Some of them are probably embracing parenthood by now. What’s the best parenting advice you can give them or to those who are about to become parents?

Enjoy each and every moment of parenting your children. When you have a newborn, it is a rizq (sustenance) for us to fulfil our duties and responsibilities as parents. It is a huge responsibility because every time the child gets a year older, it is also a reminder that this child only turns a certain age once in a lifetime.

That child is going to become 1 year-old once, 5-year-old once and you can never get that moment back. No matter how much you want the child to stay as a baby. So, enjoy, appreciate that time and always be there for your children especially when they need you the most.

Give the best foundation of all aspects; including religion and education, among other things. This is important because when they get older, they will be independent and the best version of themselves.

COVID-19 has affected all of us unexpectedly in many ways. What has it taught you since the pandemic started?

I feel our health is the most important and it’s our top priority. Before COVID-19, we kept fulfilling our needs with unnecessities. You can’t buy your health and wellness. COVID-19 has certainly opened our eyes in a lot of ways, too. We are more aware on the importance of being a part of a family and community.

It’s a wakeup call to everyone. We shouldn’t take things for granted. The whole world stops because of one virus. You don’t need natural disasters to give you a sign to wake up. However, because of COVID-19 and lockdowns all over the world, nature is improving. There are a lot of lessons to be learnt from COVID-19.

We have cleaner air, rivers and beaches. Our surroundings are getting better. It shows that we, as humans, are slowly destroying the world but it can be healed.

You will be celebrating your 20th anniversary with your wife next year. Can you share with us one of your most memorable moments?

Definitely every time that she was pregnant. My wife is an incredible woman. We have three children together and everything went smoothly throughout her pregnancy period until she gave birth.

A million things could go wrong. Not just with my wife but for any mother who goes into labour—it is a life and death situation. As a husband, you need to give your full support and be there for her to assist with the things she needs to go through.

Don’t forget to be there for her when she needs you and I believe in the power of prayers, too. We are grateful that nothing challenging happened during her pregnancy, and I will always be thankful for that.

Dato Aaron Aziz has been a heartthrob for many years since the beginning of his career. The 46-year-old continues to delight fans and viewers for more than two decades and it only gets better for him.
Can you share some words exclusively for mummies out there?

They said behind every successful man there is a woman. I say, beside every successful man, there are two amazing women walking hand in hand with him. His mother and also his wife.
