New toy collection, ‘Deddy Bears’ has caused some parents to be upset with the design of the plush toy designs.

Deddy Bears are a collection of plush bear toys, designed like classic monsters such as zombies, Dracula and also werewolf.

The smaller toys come inside a coffin while the bigger plush toys come inside a body bag.

These toys also come with its own autopsy report.

The cause of death on the autopsy reports can be quite graphic for young children.

Parents are enraged, saying that the toy is a bit too much to be marketed in stores.

On the flip side, some parents are saying that people have gone too soft and doesn’t have any problem regarding the soft toys.

Even though the toy is not advertised for kids, these toys are displayed in the toy section.

Kids might see it and want one for themselves or a friend might gift it to your child thinking there was nothing wrong with it.

Dr Deidre Brandner, a child psychologist shared on what he thought about giving these bears to young kids.

She mentioned that it’s a waste of money and investment to have a toy that does not provide any educational or nurturing advantage.

Supporting Dr Brandrer, Justin Khoury, CEO of Unbound Minds Psychology said these toys might inflict more harm than good.

With kids that has little exposure about the concept of death, these toys can be too much for them.

Justin said that it’s not good to the emotional development of a child to read that a stuffed toy is being burned alive in a fake autopsy report.

Dr Brandner also emphasised the importance of evaluating a toy’s purpose before introducing it to a child.

The autopsy report included with the bears are graphic and inappropriate for kids.

One of the dolls was shot multiple times, another was bandaged too tight and another one was burned.

Importance of Age-Appropriate Toys

These toys were not made for kids for reasons mentioned above.

However, it is important to note that your kids should be given toys suitable for their age.

These toys might be suitable for older kids, those that understand the concept of death.

Age-appropriate toys are important because it helps with developing skills needed in the future.

If your younger kids come across this doll or others in similar nature, their curiosity might peak.

If that happens, you can try to slowly introduce the concept of death for them to understand about it better.
