A total of 10 million adult citizens are set to receive a one-time e-cash credit worth RM100 through the eMADANI programme. Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister and Minister of Finance. announced earlier this week.
Malaysians who are eligible for the financial assistance can begin to send in their applications beginning from 8:00 a.m. on 4 December 2023 until 20 February 2024, through the selected user-preferred e-wallet service applications: MAE, Setel, ShopeePay and Touch ‘n Go eWallet.
Here’s what you need to know about the eMADANI program and how to apply for it.
Who Is Eligible to Receive eMADANI
- Malaysian citizen
- Aged 21 and above in 2023
Other Requirements
Either a recipient of Rahmah Cash Contribution (STR) based on records as of 7 November 2023 OR has an annual income of RM100,000 and below based on the records of the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDNM) as of 15 July 2023.
Recipients of eBeliaRahmah are not eligible for this program.
Because they have already benefited from the eBeliaRahmah credit introduced to promote cashless payments among the youth.
Applications for eMADANI credit can be made once per eligible applicant from 8:00 a.m. on 4 December 2023 to 11:59 p.m. on 20 February 2024.
After successfully applying for credit, it must be spent by 11:59 pm on 29 February 2024.
After this date, any unused eMADANI credit will automatically expire from the applicant’s e-wallet.
How to Apply for Your eMADANI Credit
The verification process for new and existing users can be done through the participating e-wallet service provider (MAE, Setel, ShopeePay or Touch ‘n Go eWallet)
- Step 1: Download the relevant e-wallet application from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store or Huawei AppGallery.
- Step 2: For new or existing users, follow the instructions provided in the e-wallet application.
- Step 3: The e-wallet service provider will perform electronic identity verification ‘Know-Your-Customer’ (eKYC).
- Step 4: In your chosen e-wallet application, enter the required information on the eMADANI claim page and press ‘Submit’.
- Step 5: You will be notified if the claim is successful.
Eligible recipients can only claim eMADANI credit from one (1) e-wallet service provider.
Please refer to each e-wallet application for more information on redeeming eMADANI credit.
What You Can Use It For
You can use the RM100 eMADANI credit for any physical transactions at 1.8 million retailers/businesses through your preferred e-wallet.
What You Cannot Use It For
You will not be able to use your eMADANI credit for the following:
- Peer-to-peer transfers
- Cash redemption
- Utility bill payments integrated with the e-wallet application
- Government-related fees integrated with the e-wallet application
- Postpaid telecommunications bills and prepaid integrated with the e-wallet application
- Purchase of games integrated with the e-wallet application
- Parking and/or toll payments
- Investment-related activities integrated with the e-wallet application
- E-commerce or online transactions
When Will You Receive Your eMADANI Credit
If you meet the eMADANI eligibility and have undergone the eKYC verification process, you will receive RM100 as a one-time payment into your preferred e-wallet.
Typically, this process takes 24 hours to 5 days from the application date.
You will receive a notification about the application status from your chosen e-wallet service provider after applying through the e-wallet application.
