He said that the milk is deficient in some important nutrients for your baby like:

  • vitamin C
  • vitamin D
  • iron
  • zinc
  • folic acid
  • the B vitamins

These nutrients are what regulate all kinds of important stuff.

Such as your child’s ability to carry oxygen in their blood or your baby’s brain development.

Dr Williams also says goat’s milk has too much sodium, potassium, calcium and phosphorus.

The imbalances in electrolytes can cause a ton of problems, such as:

  • heart problems
  • muscle spasms

Another reason he shared to avoid goat’s milk is because there’s too much protein in them.

As they’re still very young, your baby’s kidneys can’t process that high of a protein load and this could lead to kidney damage.

Healthline suggests that you introduce pasteurised goat’s milk once your baby turns one year old.
