Here’s How I Make Sure My Kid Has Fewer Sick Days

sick-days

As a mum, I naturally care deeply about my child’s wellbeing.

While I stay informed about various health updates, sometimes it can be overwhelming.

From reports about new bugs to the flu season, occasional food concerns at school, and typical developmental milestones—staying on top of these is just another normal part of parenting.

My priority is ensuring my kids can enjoy their childhood, learn, and play as they should. If I could, I’d always want to protect them every step of the way.

But for now, the most I can do is make sure they’re as healthy as they can be. Prevention is better than cure, after all. And it all starts with their nutrition.

As luck would have it, I soon came across something promising: colostrum!

This reminds me of breastfeeding and my child was breastfed for almost 1 year and has very strong immunity.

Colostrum is the first liquid-gold breastmilk produced during first 2-4 days after birth. It is rich in natural source of nutrients, antibodies and growth factors for the newborn.

Here are more benefits of colostrum.

It Supports Healthy Growth

Colostrum is rich in growth factors. These include amino acids and other nutrients that support healthy bone and muscle development in growing children.

The growth factors present in colostrum, such as insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), can also support nutrient absorption.

Essential fatty acids present in colostrum, such as omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, are important for brain health and cognitive development in children.

It Boosts Immunity

Colostrum contains high levels of immunoglobulins, antibodies, and other immune-enhancing compounds that may help bolster a child’s immune system, providing a natural defence against infections and illnesses.

The anti-inflammatory compounds, cytokines and lactoferrin, present in colostrum may also help with allergies.

It Promotes Gut Health

The presence of probiotics, prebiotics, and antimicrobial peptides in colostrum may promote a healthy gut microbiome in children, aiding digestion, preventing diarrhoea, and supporting overall gut health.

With all these benefits in mind, of course I wanted to try it out with my kids!

So, I found these colostrum supplements that come in fruit-flavoured chewable tablets, which my kids simply love.

Within a few weeks, I already saw a marked improvement in my child’s health.

And I’m happy to share my discovery with all of you now.
