How to Prevent Cat Allergies in Your Household

It’s fact: cats are everywhere.

We see them sleeping at the side of stores.

Or at the local park.

For some of us, we may have them as our household pets.

But despite the cuteness of this animal, not all can handle its dander.

Cat Allergies

Someone may have cat allergy when they’re sneezy and suffer a runny nose.

Other signs may also include coughing, red watery eyes and a tight chest.

TikTok surgeon Dr Karan has given us the simple method to solve this problem for all cat lovers.

Feed Them Eggs

Following a stitch of another video, Dr Karan debunks the tip given in it.

It stated that you may help your cat allergies by giving them free-range eggs.

The eggs are from a farm where chickens and cats live free-range.

Dr Karan then explains that cats produce protein called FELD-1.

This type of protein is the one that tend to be cause of allergies of many people.

Chickens, when living free-range with cats or from inoculation, have a dose of this protein.

Due to this, their immune system produces an antibody from it.

This antibody can be passed down to the chicken’s offspring.

The offspring refers to the eggs the chickens lay.

And these eggs are concentrated in them.

By giving your cats these eggs, they get a dose of that Anti-FELD1 antibody.

This antibody then neutralises the protein that’s present in the cat’s saliva and fur.

Doing this can also neutralise the allergens into the environment.

Reducing the allergen load and also your symptoms.

Changing Your Cat’s Diet

There is cat food that can reduce allergens on the market.

But, as mentioned in the clip, it can take up to three weeks for it to be effective.

So, you may give your feline an egg on top of their daily cat food.

It’s best to feed them cooked but plain.

Fry the eggs scrambled or sunny-side without any oils, butter or salt.

Another option is hard-boiled eggs.

You may cut them into little pieces and stir along their daily wet or dry food.

But avoid giving your cats raw eggs.

We’ve heard of the raw diet for animals.

The raw diet is like how it sounds: animals are given a serving of raw meat, bones and other organs.

This type of diet can be done with ingredients you may buy yourself.

Some animal food brands have made them pre-packaged, as well.

Though there are words tossed around about its benefits, the FDA doesn’t approve of this method.

Owners who feed their animals raw eggs have a higher risk of getting infections due to them, such as salmonella.

So, stick with the cooking for your pets instead.

One Egg a Day Keeps the Allergies Away

Cats are adorable and that’s undeniable.

But it can’t be done when some of us cat lovers are allergic to them.

With this given tip, we hope your allergies will soon be at bay.

So, keep up with the egg-feeding, cat lovers!
