It’s that time of year again where parents can start registering their kids for Standard 1.
This registration is mandatory for all kids going from preschool into the public education system.
For the 2025/2026 academic session, only children born between 2 January 2018 and 1 January 2019 are eligible.
The online portals officially open between 2 May 2024 to 30 June 2024. So save the dates and prepare all the documents you need in the meantime.
Here’s how you can register your child for Standard 1 for the 2025/2026 academic year.
For new applicants registering for the first time, the system has changed from SPS (Sistem Pengurusan Sekolah) to MOEIS (Modul Sistem Bersepadu KPM) since 2023.
Any information previously filled in the previous system has automatically been transferred to the new online portal.
The registration involves a twofold access: Sistem Pengurusan iDentiti (idMe) and MOEIS. First time users will only need to create an idMe account which will redirect to their MOEIS account.
Online Registration for Standard 1
For First-Time Applicants
Sign up first if you haven’t created your idME account:
- Click on ‘Daftar Baru‘ for users who do not have an account.
- Please fill in all the information in the provided fields. Information marked with an asterisk (*) is mandatory to be filled in.
- Tick the checkbox and enter the captcha code in the field provided.
- Click on the ‘Daftar‘ button to submit the user’s information, or click on the ‘Reset’ button to reset the user’s information.
Note: Successfully registered users need to check their email to get their default password, then log in to the system using the default password provided, and change the password to a new one.
Before making the application you need to create a profile first for yourself, your spouse and your child.
If you’ve already filled in this part, then move on to the next point:
- Go to https://idme.moe.gov.my/. Both Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox are acceptable browsers.
- Click on ‘Aplikasi‘ on the left side of the webpage.
- Click on ‘Pengurusan Awam‘. You will be directed to the official MOEIS site.
- On the left side of the dashboard, you will find ‘Pengurusan Profil‘. Click on this.
- Now complete the fields for each of the drop down options: ‘Maklumat Peribadi‘, ‘Maklumat Pasangan‘ and ‘Maklumat Anak Jagaan‘.
- This is where you fill in the details of yourself, your spouse and your child.
For Returning Applicants
If you’ve already registered your previous child, then you will have already filled in yours and your spouse’s information.
So, you can directly start by logging in:
- Go to https://idme.moe.gov.my/
- Enter User ID.
- Click the ‘Daftar Masuk‘ button.
- Click the checkbox and enter the password in the provided field.
- Click the ‘Daftar Masuk‘ button.
- For users who do not have an account, click on ‘Daftar Baru‘—Refer to previous subheading.
Next, you have to create a profile for your next child going into Standard 1 before making the application.
- On your MOEIS dashboard, click on ‘Maklumat Anak Jagaan‘.
- Then, click on ‘Tambah Anak Jagaan‘. Fill in the information required.
- Click on ‘Cari‘. Update any details where applicable (Note: You may skip this step if you’ve already done it).
How to Register for Standard 1 Online
Once you’ve updated the profiles, now it’s time to put in your child’s official application for Standard 1!
There are four steps in total in the online registration process: ‘Semakan Profil‘, ‘Pilihan Sekolah‘, ‘Dokumen Sokongan‘ and ‘Perakuan‘. Fill in all of these to complete your application.
1. Click on ‘Permohonan‘ on the dashboard, and then on the ‘Rendah Tahap 1‘ link.
2. You will be redirected to another tab ‘Permohonan Tahun Satu KPM‘.
3. On the bottom right, click on ‘Mohon‘.
4. Click ‘Seterusnya‘. You will be directed to the registration window.
5. Under ‘Semakan Profil‘, make sure all the details (name, address, IC number, etc) are correct. Then, click on ‘Seterusnya‘.
6. Under ‘Pilihan Sekolah‘, fill in the district, postcode, area and the school of your choice. Then, click ‘Seterusnya‘.
7. Under ‘Dokumen Sokongan‘, you will need to upload the supporting documents in PDF format: parents’ payslip, parents’ IC, MySejahtera certificate or vaccination card, and marriage certificate. After that, click on ‘Seterusnya‘.
8. Under ‘Perakuan‘, tick the box that says ‘Saya mengaku…’ and then click on ‘Hantar‘.
9. Next, click on ‘Cetak Permohonan‘. Print two copies for the final registration. You will also need to print two other documents ‘Borang Pemeriksaan Kesihatan‘ and ‘Borang Rawatan Pergigian‘. These are provided under ‘Cetak Borang‘.
10. You’ve successfully completed the online registration!
Wait for the results (it’s not announced yet) and the name of your child’s new school will be given.
Physical Registration and Supporting Documents
After you have completed the online registration for Standard 1 as highlighted above, print out the registration form.
The name of your child’s school will be given on the document.
This is where you must go and send in the registration.
Bring the following supporting documents along during the physical registration process:
- Registration Form (2 copies)
- Health Service Approval and Immunisation Form with parent’s signature (original)
- Child’s Birth Certificate (original and 1 copy)
- Father’s Identification Card/Passport (original and 1 copy)
- Mother’s Identification Card/Passport (original and 1 copy)
- Marriage/Divorce Certificate, if applicable (original and 1 copy)
- Court Order/Custody Letter, if applicable (original and 1 copy)
- Latest Utility Bill/Electricity Bill (original or 1 copy)
- Rental Agreement, if applicable (1 copy)
- Child’s Immunisation Record with Injection Dates (1 copy)
- Health Documents/OKU Information, if applicable (original and 1 copy)
Here are the instructions you need to access your account so you can register your children for primary 1 for the 2025/2025 academic session.
For Forgotten Password
If you’re a registered user but have forgotten your password, here’s to retrieve access to your account:
- Click on ‘Lupa Kata Laluan‘ if you forgot your password.
- Enter a valid email address in the provided field.
- Enter the captcha in the provided field and click the ‘Hantar Tatapan‘ button.
- Check your email for the password reset confirmation. Click on the ‘Penetapan Semula Kata Laluan Akaun Pengguna‘ button provided in the email.
- Enter email information and identification card number.
- Create your new password and confirm it in the following field.
- Enter the written captcha in the provided field and click on the ‘Menetapkan Semula Kata Laluan‘ button to complete the reset.
Time to Make That Registration
The online registration system was created to make it easier for parents to enroll their kids into the public education system.
So, be sure to set the right time for you to sit down and make the application properly to ensure it’s a one and done deal.
A trick to make the process that much smoother is to prepare the supporting documents in advance.
So remember to scan in your IC and payslip, and make sure you have everything you need.
