IHH Healthcare Malaysia (“IHH”) has launched a ‘Ready For You’ campaign to equip individuals with practical lifesaving skills for them to be able to provide fast and precise intervention during basic medical emergencies.

Through the campaign, IHH will provide complimentary Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training to 1,000 employees from various service sectors including private clinics, insurance, education, banking, hospitality, and e-hailing, with the purpose of creating more first responders within these key consumer-facing services.

Jean-François Naa, Chief Executive Officer of IHH Healthcare Malaysia, said, “As a leading healthcare provider in Malaysia, we are fully prepared to respond to medical emergencies through our emergency departments and multidisciplinary physicians. However, some medical emergencies may call for immediate action on the ground prior to the arrival of ambulance service and the paramedics.”

“By having more people in the community trained in CPR and the use of AED, there is a higher likelihood that someone will be able to provide fast and precise intervention, which can help in the survivability of a person.”

To complement this campaign, the public can download a First Aid eBook containing essential tips on managing basic medical emergencies, available on the Gleneagles, Pantai and Prince Court Medical Centre websites.

A first-of-its-kind hands-on CPR kiosk in Malaysia has also been launched to educate the community on CPR. This interactive kiosk will be placed at selected IHH hospitals and strategic partners’ locations.
