Who says you can’t have a magical Christmas here in Malaysia?
There are plenty of things you can do here when you’re out celebrating the festive holiday.
You might not get to experience the usual Christmas experience you see on television but it can still be pretty magical for you to spend the holiday with your family.
Sure, you can’t exactly go sledding or wear jumpers outside of your air-conditioned homes but that doesn’t mean the magic of the holiday has to stop there.
Here are seven places you can go to have that spectacular Christmas fun with your family.
Genting Highlands
There’s plenty of things to do in Genting Highlands.
You can shop at the many shopping centres there like the Genting Highlands Premium Outlet.
You can even go on fun rides at the Genting SkyWorld Theme Park.
In 2022, the Resorts World Genting opened the SnowWorld which is currently temporary closed.
There’s no news yet as to when or if they’ll reopen for this year, but if they decide to reopen it in time for Christmas, snowfalls would occur every half hour from 6:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. every day.
Even if they don’t open it this year, the weather this time of year is expected to be cold, so you can somewhat experience the chilly Christmas in Genting Highlands.
Cameron Highlands
Harvest strawberries, go to the tea factory and plantations.
It’s the best place to go this Christmas celebration.
There are fun activities for you to do with the whole family.
Indulge yourself with the chilly weather of the place and dress up for the weather.
You might not get the snow but it’s still a fun place to go with the whole family.
LEGOLAND, Malaysia
LEGOLAND, Malaysia is having their Brick-tacular Holidays from 15th November.
Go on the rides provided there or see the giant LEGO DUPLO tree.
There are holiday shows for you to watch and enjoy with the whole family.
Meet plenty of the LEGO holidays characters and take plenty of pictures.
There are plenty of things to do in theme park.
You can write a letter to Santa or come up with a holiday’s wish list.
Bring your kid’s love for LEGO to life this Christmas and see them light up with joy.
The Portuguese Settlement, Melaka
The historical city of Melaka have so many things for you to see and do with your whole family.
Not only can you teach your children the history of Melaka, about who and what shaped the state to what it is today, you can also spend Christmas there at the Portuguese Settlement.
The Portuguese Settlement is situated in Ujong Pasir, Melaka, which serves as a village for the Kristang people.
The people there hang up colourful decorations that makes you feel like you’re in a Christmas wonderland.
i-City, Shah Alam
i-City has always been the place to go when you want to see colourful lights displayed all over.
It’s also the place where people go to experience the snow at their SnoWalk attraction they have at the theme park.
There are snow sculptures of famous landmarks or characters from popular movies.
There are also ice slides that are built on different levels of the attraction.
Enter the igloos that are scattered around the place.
Something that your kids can definitely enjoy would be the snowball fights.
It wouldn’t be just something they’d see on television, you can make your own snowballs or use the snowballs that are prepared at the snowball station.
Sunway Pyramid Ice, Sunway Pyramid
Another place you can visit to experience Christmas fun is at Sunway Pyramid Ice.
Go ice-skating with the whole family this Christmas there.
If you’re lucky, you might also witness ice-skating shows there if there are shows scheduled there.
If not, just have fun with your family as you skate around the rink.
The decorations in the Sunway Pyramid mall itself is also spectacular and would bring you right to Christmas wonderland.
