Motherhood Story chats briefly with the innovators behind this delicious and healthy soy milk to better understand their brand and product.
1. Congratulations on winning the Motherhood Choice Awards 2021: First-Choice Soy Milk! Please tell us a bit about your brand vision and how long you have been in the industry.
Firstly, thank you to Motherhood.com.my and all who voted for us. We are honoured to be awarded the Motherhood Choice Awards 2021: First-Choice Soy Milk. HOMESOY Original was launched in October 2007. The brand name ‘HOMESOY’ denotes a home-style recipe, naturalness and authenticity. HOMESOY has been a market leader in the soy milk category, unique from others with its home-style recipe that is well accepted by the soy drinking culture of Malaysians.
2. Could you share with us a little on the R&D behind your award-winning product?
Ace Canning Sdn Bhd has been known as a leading manufacturer of Asian beverages for years, with brands like Drinho under its umbrella. After years of experience in the Asian beverage category, it was also observed that besides Chrysanthemum tea, the next most consumed beverage is soy milk. The inspiration to produce HOMESOY is due to the lack of availability of such home-made taste recipe in the market. This led to the development of HOMESOY Original with the objective of offering consumers an authentic and home-made taste soy milk in Ready to Drink format.
3. What makes your product different from other competing brands in your category?
What sets HOMESOY apart from our peers in the soy category asides from its unique recipe is that it’s beyond soy milk. It is reminiscent of home and family, which gives users a gentle, caring experience whenever they drink HOMESOY. The brand aspiration is to be the Soy Specialist bringing new innovations to consumers with the spin-off of some Malaysian-favourite flavours such as Brown Sugar, Honey Melon, No Sugar Added, and Multigrain for the health conscious consumers. Other than Ready to Drink formats, HOMESOY is also available in instant beverage (powder) for those who prefer a delicious cup of warm and convenient soy milk.
4. Moving forward, could you share with our readers any teasers on what they may look forward to from HOMESOY in the near future?
We are constantly exploring in bringing new flavours to our consumers, with the latest addition being HOMESOY Multigrain, which was launched in October 2020. This is in trend with the increasing health awareness and wholesome lifestyle among consumers. Asides from product line expansions, we’re glad to share that HOMESOY will undergo a packaging uplift which is expected to be on shelves by October 2021.
