Motherhood Choice Awards brings together top brands in parenting and childcare every year for 10,000 mums to vote on. From its humble beginnings back in 2019, the Motherhood Choice Awards is slowly changing the parenting landscape by letting mums’ voices be heard.
By voting on their favourite brands, experienced mums can help new mums make the right choice for themselves, their children and their families.
Winners get Best Awards, where they are dubbed the best brands in their category—as voted by mums, for mums. Each brand is judged based on 6 criteria: Trustworthiness, Quality, Value, Understanding of Customer Needs, Innovation, and Social Responsibility. These are the pillars of excellence that ensure only the best of the best are qualified for any award.
Motherhood is proud to announce that Byond28 Confinement Care has won the Best Confinement Centre in the 2022 Motherhood Choice Awards! This marks their first win in the prestigious event hosted by Nuren Group.
Childbirth is a harrowing journey, and mothers need plenty of rest after such an ordeal. A good postnatal care centre is the perfect place for new mums to recuperate until they’re strong enough to get back on their feet.
With Byond28, mothers receive five-star, red carpet treatment that is well worth the money. And all of this coming from a relatively newcomer in the industry.
Established in July 2020 during the heat of the COVID-19 crisis as a humble start-up, Byond28 has defied odds by surviving the worst of the pandemic to become one of the most successful confinement centres in Kuala Lumpur. And for good reason.
Their services don’t just include basic needs like food and amenities, but high-end medical care, parenting education and top-notch postpartum nutrition too.
On top of that, they have board-certified medical specialists (OBGYN), lactation consultants, KKM-approved staff nurses and 24-hour CCTV security.
Your 28 days with Byond28 will basically have you living like royalty. With beautiful, fully-furnished, air-conditioned rooms, equipped with a flat screen and 5 meals a day, your postpartum journey will definitely be a breeze at this confinement centre!
Motherhood Story chats briefly with the innovators behind this confinement centre to better understand their brand and product.
Providing Holistic Postpartum Care
Byond28 is not only dedicated to the recovery and health of mother and child, but to the holistic experience of parenthood.
From the prenatal period to the post-delivery to the post check-out of the confinement centre itself. Their services include all these stages within an expectant mother’s journey.
The centre prioritises the importance of establishing a healthy foundation between parent and child. They believe that only with this healthy foundation can a family grow and experience life together.
Starting businesses during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic was both a baptism by fire and a learning experience for the Byond28 team.
They had the unique opportunity to fortify their services to include aspects of postpartum care that would have otherwise been overlooked. This is especially true when adhering to COVID-19 SOPs, to ensure the safety of the clients, their babies and, of course, the employees.
Not Just a Confinement Centre
“In such a delicate service industry like confinement, there is nothing more important than establishing a healthy relationship between the relevant parties,” said Sally Peh, Centre Manager. “As a confinement centre, Byond28 strives to strengthen the relationship between husband and wife; between parent and child; and between parent and confinement service provider,”
The Byond28 team values communication in their strive to provide the best postpartum care for mum and baby. So, mothers are encouraged to share their suggestions, worries, and comments with the staff. This is to eliminate any misunderstanding and ensure clients have the best treatment during their stay at the centre.
“There are always plenty of things that need improving in such a complex industry. New ways to handle the emotional wellbeing of mothers; or new ways to involve fathers in improving the relationship between parent and child,”
Sally Peh says that the main issue they see with new mothers is that they lack guidance, especially during the prenatal period. Many of their customers still rely on Facebook groups and Google to find out information regarding their pregnancy and 9-month trimester. Many mothers are also unaware of what to expect during the labour process and what to do in the hospital. This is what Byond28 hopes to address in the coming years.
“In the near future Byond28 will introduce a series of educational classes from our Obstetrician & Gynaecologist Dr. Krishna Kumar A/L Hari Krishnan, so we hope that you will look forward to that,”
On Winning their First Motherhood Choice Awards
When asked about how they feel about winning the Motherhood Choice Awards, Sally Peh said:
“At the end of the day, the main thing that makes our service better is the trust. We thank all our mothers and fathers who trust us during the confinement period to take care of them and to educate them in their parental journey.
The people behind me—nursing, lactation, kitchen, housekeeping, and customer relationship departments, all play their own critical role to achieve success in Byond28 Confinement Care. I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of them.
The entire team at Byond28 Confinement Care will strive to make sure that the confinement centre remains worthy of this award for years to come, and that we will continue helping families in this critical and delicate confinement period. Byond28 Confinement Care will continue to be a professional, warm, and caring confinement centre that can cater to the needs of all families.”
