The National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM) marks a historic milestone today with the unveiling of its new logo, symbolising the organisation’s evolution, followed by the official opening of the NASOM Secretariat Office located at Unit B-3-3, Pacific Place Commercial Centre, Ara Damansara, Petaling Jaya.
Officiated by YB Datuk Seri Dr Noraini binti Ahmad, Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, the new logo embodies NASOM’s aspiration to project a more modern, progressive and future-ready identity.
It reflects the association’s unwavering commitment to strengthening its role as a leading provider of autism services and advocacy in Malaysia.
A New Identity, A Renewed Purpose
The introduction of the new logo signifies NASOM’s intent to adopt an identity that is modern, progressive and relevant to current needs.
It represents the organisation’s determination to elevate its leadership in autism services and advocacy, aligned with ongoing efforts to champion the rights, opportunities and quality of life of autistic individuals in Malaysia.

Since its establishment on 3 March 1987, NASOM has remained committed to providing lifelong support to autistic individuals through a wide range of programmes, including early intervention, occupational therapy, vocational training and skills development.
Today, NASOM operates 18 centres nationwide, serving more than 400 students with the support of 120 trained staff, including specialised educators.
NASOM’S New Logo Elements
Infinity Symbol
Represents neurodiversity, the principle that neurological differences such as autism are not deficits but natural variations of the human brain.
The Two Water Droplets Symbol
Symbolise flexibility. Water flows and adapts easily, taking the shape of its surroundings, a metaphor for resilience and adaptability.
Meaning of Colours

Pink: Symbol of compassion. A gentle, comforting colour that embodies empathy and kindness.

Turquoise: Associated with calmness and clarity. It helps stabilise emotions and evokes warmth, especially for individuals on the autism spectrum.

Blue: Symbol of trust and loyalty. A soothing colour that promotes a sense of peace, safety and reassurance.
Official Opening of the NASOM Secretariat Office
According to NASOM Chairman Julian Wong, the official launching of the Secretariat Office signifies NASOM’s strengthened commitment to expanding its services and bringing support closer to the autism community.
The new office will serve as a hub where initiatives, collaborations and strategic programmes are developed to ensure more autistic individuals are able to participate and thrive within society.
For more than 38 years of operation, NASOM has partnered with over 100 organisations, including corporate entities, government agencies, local universities and small businesses, reinforcing its mission to promote inclusive understanding and opportunities across the nation.
Unwavering Commitment to the Future of the Autism Community
To sustain its operations, NASOM continues to champion various initiatives such as autism awareness exhibitions, bazaars, discourse series, live panel sessions, fundraising programmes and talent showcases featuring autistic individuals.
As a non-profit organisation, NASOM relies heavily on community support.
