OncoCare Cancer Centre (OncoCare), one of Singapore’s top private oncology providers, has officially arrived in Malaysia.

Its first international facility is now open at Thomson Hospital, Kota Damansara.

This expansion marks a major milestone in OncoCare’s mission to make world-class cancer care accessible across Southeast Asia.

A Trusted Name in Oncology

In his welcome speech, Dr Tay Miah Hiang, the Founder of OncoCare Cancer Centre Singapore, emphasised that OncoCare was established with the vision of providing comprehensive, patient-centred cancer care.

Founded in 2007 by Dr Tay Miah Hiang and Dr Peter Ang, OncoCare has become a trusted name in oncology.

With seven centres in Singapore and more than 36,000 patient visits annually, it offers a multidisciplinary approach to cancer care.

OncoCare combines cutting-edge treatments such as like precision oncology, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy, with compassionate patient support.

Dr John Low Seng Hooi, the Chief Executive Officer and Senior Consultant Clinical Oncologist of OncoCare Cancer Centre Malaysia, delivered a speech during the Soft Launch of OncoCare Cancer Centre Malaysia. He highlighted that OncoCare’s expansion into Malaysia aligns with its mission to make advanced cancer care more accessible and holistic.

Cancer is the fourth leading cause of death in Malaysia.

According to the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) 2023 report, the rate of cancer-related deaths rose from 10.5% in 2021 to 12.6% in 2022.

OncoCare Malaysia aims to bridge this gap by offering advanced treatments and screening programs.

These include screenings for breast, colorectal, and lung cancers, which are among the most common in Malaysia.

“Today’s soft launch marks the beginning of a new chapter,” said Dr John Low Seng Hooi, CEO and Senior Consultant Clinical Oncologist of OncoCare Cancer Centre Malaysia.

This includes next-generation molecular diagnostics and AI-driven radiotherapy treatment planning.

During the soft launch, a panel discussion titled Advancing Cancer Care: Multidisciplinary Collaboration and Innovative Treatments highlighted the importance of collaboration.
