Well, instead of glooming about it, how about get yourself motivated and take this moment to rejuvenate yourself? There are a lot of things you can do at home to elevate your mood and make you happy.

Did you happen to have a list of films to watch later? Instead of postponing that again, let’s scrap them one by one! Either in your bed or in the living room, you can enjoy watching movies alone or with family.

To improve the ambience, you should get some plushies and place a few scented candles nearby. Having some snack to munch on and a warm drink to sip does help to get into the mood. Popcorn and hot chocolate will be a good choice!

2. Read books

With a lot of things going on, we barely have time to read any book – as in the physical and real books, not magazines, e-book, and such. Instead of a necessity, reading is always regarded as a hobby or to pass some time.

To grow, we need knowledge and one way to achieve that is through reading. Choose the genre and book titles you are interested with. Anywhere you like, get yourself comfortable and start your journey into the virtual world!

Imagine that you are wrapping yourself in a blanket on a rainy day, with a cup of coffee and accompanied by the smell of the book – oh, it feels so heavenly!

3. Storytelling session

It is always nice listening to a storyteller. The story just becomes more interesting and the way someone curates the story can hook us up.

How about in these rainy days, let’s all gather in the living room and take the turn to tell stories? You wouldn’t notice how fast time flies!

Together, make a circle and tell each story. You can lay some rules like choosing a specific genre. It can be fictions, non-fictions, narratives, thrillers, etc. Selection of genre can make it more interesting. For example, thanks to the gloomy surrounding, genre like horror fiction will be great!

This storytelling session is not only fun but highly beneficial as well. For example, it can enrich your vocabulary, show you things through a different perspective as you listen to others and build up your confidence when you act as the narrator.

4. Home spa

Did you always want to pamper yourself but didn’t have enough budget or time for that? Instead of going to a spa, how about doing it yourself?

Having your own home day spa is not that hard. Rather, it is quite therapeutic. For start, how about having a warm bath? If you don’t have a bathtub, you can get a portable one either at the market or through online platforms.

Fill the tub with rose petals and some aromatherapy oil. To improve the ambience, you can light some scented candles for a calming effect.

Soaking your body in the warm water, loaded with rose petals and accompanied by the scent of candles in the air will surely revitalise you!

Now that your body is ready, you can continue with other regimens such as scrubbing your body. You can make your own body scrub for a specific purpose such as to lighten skin, to moisturise or to soften it beforehand.

As your skin is softened after the bath, scrubbing will be more effective.

Then maybe, putting on some DIY mask for face, hair and/or on your heels. Plan and make your own regimen for this home spa and let yourself be rejuvenated!

5. Decorate your room

When was the last time that you clean and decorate your room? Or have a room makeover? Perhaps, this is the time!

Spend your time wisely (at home) by rearranging some furniture, deep cleaning and also some makeover to give your room a fresh, new look.

If you need some ideas, you can look it up online. You can get it from Pinterest, home decor ideas in the Instagram and many more.

Then, you can start your mission by removing all the rubbish and dust. Have a look at your room and sort out your stuff.

Once you clear it all out, declutter, throw away or gather at one part all the unnecessary stuff. For those that can be used and still in good conditions, perhaps you can give it to the other family members or the needy.

Remember that hoarding things will only accumulate more dust and take up more space. Only then, you can reorganise the position of your stuff and add some that you need.

After that, it’s time for the final touch. Let’s decorate the room like hanging some string lights on the wall. This can improve your room ambience and mood under such weather!

When you see the final result, being home will feel great!

6. Listen to audiobook

There are many great audiobooks that you can access on the online platform. It is similar to reading a book but instead of using your sight, you are using your hearing.
