This beautiful Moon Sighting Binoculars Craft Activity is simple to construct and carries a wonderful message.

At the beginning of the lunar month of Ramadan, Muslims know when to start ‘puasa’ when they see the first sliver of the new moon! Thus, we embark on the holy month by fasting, praying, and extra remembrance of Allah.

To celebrate this moon sighting, craft up this cute set of cardboard binoculars for a memorable moon-sighting experience.

2) Ramadan Good Deeds Jar Craft

This is one fun (and good) activity you can do with your kids throughout the month of Ramadan. Prepare a Ramadan good deeds jar or bottle.

Your children can both decorate and design the jar or bottle while also filling it to the brim with all the good deeds. You can categorized their good deeds such saying ‘Salam’ and thank you, perform Tarawih together with you, reading the Quran, not fighting with the other siblings, doing house chores, and others.

This can benefit them in the long run. Plus, your kids can get extra ‘pahala’ from Him because of their good deeds!

You can also make your own good deed ideas. Have your children pick one card per day to do. You can make one jar for each child or make the good deeds a family effort.

3) Ramadan Kids Calendar

Make your own creative Ramadan calendar with your kids. Decorate them with funny drawings of cartoons.

Once the calendar is ready, you can let your kids to colour or mark each day of Ramadan. Perhaps, ask them to fill in the good deeds for the day. This way, your kids will be very excited to get to the final day of Ramadan!

4) Ramadan Photo Booth

Take an unused fabric and get your kids to create their own praying mat. Allow them to decorate the praying mat with paints, stickers, ribbons, and others.

You can also top it off with colorful scraps of yarn or ribbon for the contrasting side edge tassels at the top and bottom of the mat.

Alternatively, you can use the prayer mat as a wall decoration around your home during Ramadan. The prayer mat can also be adopted and miniaturized as a mini version of a colorful, creative, and festive decorative garland to hang across the wall, doorway, or mantle place.

6) Ramadan Challenge Board Game

You will need A4 papers, cardboard, scissors, glue, and a marker pen. Think of challenges that you can make for your kids and family, and get them involved in this board game.

Our suggestion: Every person has to come out with one informative board about Ramadan such as ‘the good deeds that you can do throughout Ramadan’, the Do’s and Don’ts during this month and etc.

Take turns as a family in playing this fun and simple Ramadan game to pass the time, and to earn extra blessings in this holy month!

While collecting rewards in this blissful month, you can still prepare for Hari Raya as well. Spend some time to decorate and prepare for the celebration. Ang paw or duit raya is very important in the celebration of Hari Raya, so why not you create your own envelopes.

The construction is super simpl. All you need is a paper, printer, scissors, and glue or double-sided tape to fix the envelopes together. You can do as many as you want with your children, and they are sure to be a hit!

8) Hari Raya Card

While you prepare for your Hari Raya, remember your neighbours as well. Bring back the old memories of Hari Raya card during this pandemic season. Since we are not advisable to go and ‘beraya’ as last years, you can send them a Hari Raya card. Let your kids create their own cards for their friends as well.

For an extra sweet and special message, you can send the card with some homemade treats, sweets, cookies, or even a meal.

9) Prepare for Iftar

Thinking of what to cook for iftar? Why not ask your kids? They may have many ideas of delicious food in mind. Go with their choice and get their help to prepare the meals with you.

Every day and every meal will be prepared with so much love and your kids will eventually start helping you in the kitchen although the Ramadan is over.
