The Finance Ministry reported that the retail price of the RON97 petrol will increase by 10 sen per litre, now amounting to RM 2.97.
On the other hand, the Finance Ministry also mentioned in their statement retail prices for RON95 and diesel will remain the same, currently standing at RM 2.05 and RM 2.15 per litre, each.
These changes are effective until Nov 3.
“To protect consumers from global oil price increases, the government will maintain the ceiling price of RON95 at RM 2.05 per litre and diesel at RM 2.15 per litre, even though the APM market prices for RON95 and diesel have increased beyond the current ceiling prices,” the statement read.
The changes to these prices are based on the weekly retail pricing of petroleum products which uses the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM).
The ministry also announced that the government will continue monitoring the global trend of global oil prices. This is to ensure they proceed with appropriate measures, to better preserve the continued welfare of the people.
