Scott’s Malaysia, a leading provider of nutritious oat products, recently concluded a successful first batch of their ‘Little Nutritionist Workshop’ programme designed specifically for students aged 5-9 years old. The programme, held over the first two weeks of March (4 March 2024 – 15 March 2024), saw participation from five prestigious international schools in the Klang Valley:
- IDRISSI International School
- UCSI International School
- International Islamic School Malaysia
- Sri Bestari International School
- Sekolah Tinta
Co-organised by Motherhood and GogoKids, the ‘Little Nutritionist Workshop’ aimed to educate young children about the importance of healthy eating habits in a fun and engaging way. To ensure a personalised learning experience, each school hosted two sessions – Session 1 catered to students aged 5-7 years old, while Session 2 focused on those aged 8-9 years old.
Interactive Activities and Goodie Bags for Budding Nutritionists
The workshop curriculum included a range of curated activities designed to make learning about healthy eating enjoyable and interactive. These activities included:
- Activity 1: Get To Know About Balanced Diet & Nutrients: This activity employed a hands-on approach, allowing students to explore and discuss different types of vitamins and the foods rich in essential nutrients for a healthy body.
- Activity 2: Build My Healthy Plate: This activity reinforced the concept of a balanced meal by encouraging children to participate in creating their own healthy plates using colourful cut-outs representing various food groups.
- Warm-up Dance: It’s Scott’s Time Jiggle: To keep the energy levels high and promote physical activity, a fun dance routine titled “It’s Scott’s Time Jiggle” was performed before and after each workshop activity.
Furthermore, to add to the excitement, all participating students received goodie bags filled with Scott’s nutritious oat products, further emphasising the role of oats in a healthy diet.
Looking Ahead: Batch 2 Promises More Fun and Learning
Following the overwhelming success of Batch 1, Scott’s Malaysia is gearing up for Batch 2 of the ‘Little Nutritionist Workshop’ scheduled to take place in April, from 15 April 2024 onwards.
Building upon the positive feedback received from Batch 1, Scott’s Malaysia promises to continue with the same engaging and informative programme for students in Batch 2.
Scott’s Malaysia is committed to promoting healthy eating habits among young children. The ‘Little Nutritionist Workshop’ programme serves as a testament to this commitment – providing a platform for children to learn about nutrients and its benefits, and healthy food choices in a fun and interactive environment.
