Do they love cats especially?

If so, this is your chance to bring them to Zoo Negara!

They can meet with all kinds of animals, such as giraffes, lions and capybaras.

Speaking of capybaras, you might also get a chance to see Zoo Negara’s star, Oyen.

Get to Know the Local Star, Oyen, the Orange ‘Capybara’ Cat

Oyen was first seen at the capybara enclosure a few years ago.

The cat was said to be one of the cats abandoned at the zoo during the rise of COVID-19.

Oyen is called the ‘Star of Zoo Negara’ by the deputy president, Rosly, because it is said that visitors are doubling because of the orange cat.

Tips For a Fun Day with Animals

Before you go on this fun adventure with your young ones, you must remember these key tips for a fun day.

Prepare for Outdoor Fun

Most of the areas at the zoo are unshaded to mimic the natural habitat of the animals.

Make sure you pack the essentials for a sunny day and also prepare raincoats and umbrellas, just in case it rains.

Pack enough water for everyone.

Comfortable Attire

Wear comfortable attire, especially comfortable shoes.

You will be walking around the zoo a lot.

However, if you feel tired, you can hop on a tram available around the zoo too.

Most Importantly, Have Fun!

Make sure to have fun with your kids and teach them about the wildlife while you’re there.
