Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza is the pioneer of Malaysia’s music industry. Since she started her career more than 20 years ago, she is now the top selling Malaysian singer, and a successful entrepreneur. Simply put, she is the most popular celebrity in Malaysia.
A career spanning more than two decades with countless No.1 hits, Dato’ Seri Siti Nurhaliza continues to achieve greatness. A feat that is incomparable and is not possible for many celebrities to achieve even at the global market level. And she will continue to do so in many years to come.
Besides her impeccable career, she is also a mum to two! For most of us, it seems like it was just yesterday when Malaysia’s No.1 singer gave birth to her second child, Muhammad Afwa. Better known as TokTi among her devoted fans, her son Muhammad Afwa just turned one recently on 19 April 2022.
To commemorate Afwa’s first birthday, TokTi shared a beautiful message for her son on her Instagram account. She also uploaded a couple of shots that would melt viewers’ hearts.
The video tribute to her son is filled with heart-warming moments captured through various personal photographs. We couldn’t help but to feel in awe looking at Afwa’s cuteness from when he was an infant until recently.
TokTi shares in her caption that she wants nothing but the best for her son. She hopes that one day he grows up to be a soleh son, respected and loved by everyone. TokTi also hopes that her beloved son will be a loving grownup, generous and devoted to Islamic teachings. “Be a son who always adheres to the teachings of Islam, Aamiin ya Rabb, my dearest Afwa,” TokTi wrote in her caption.
“Happiest Birthday Afwa! May your life be blessed by Allah as always,” TokTi concluded. The video garnered viewers and fans attention with thousands of comments poured in to congratulate and wish Afwa a happy birthday.
Afwa is TokTi’s latest addition to her growing family. TokTi’s eldest and Afwa’s big sister, Siti Aafiyah Khalid was born on 19 March 2018. TokTi shares these two cuties with her loving husband, Datuk Seri Khalid Mohamad Jiwa (better known as Datuk K).
As if these moments with a clip celebrating Afwa’s first birthday isn’t enough to pull at one’s heartstrings, another tearjerker video was uploaded on her official fans’ account. The 37-second video uploaded a few hours ago shows the superstar in a close-up interview session.
In this video, TokTi begins with a touching speech dedicated to her husband, Datuk K, by thanking him for allowing her to still entertain her fans till this date. She then continues to mention her two children, Aafiyah and Afwa.
Ikut sedih tengok #fyp
This is the part where viewers may require a tissue while watching. TokTi couldn’t hold back her tears and begin to choke when mentioning her children’s names. She says, “To Afwa and Aafiyah, I’m sorry because I have been busy with work.”
She finally thanked her mum, Siti Salmah, and Tokti can also be heard saying “I’m sad,” at the end of the video before someone rushes over to wipe her tears from rolling down her cheeks.
We can all relate to TokTi’s moving and emotional message. Being a parent, and on top of that a working mother too, isn’t always an easy task. It’s not a choice but rather a ‘sacrifice’ parents have to make by leaving their children at home to go to work. We do this to ensure our children have better lives than us and a more secure future. TokTi is no exception.
Her journey to superstardom may look like the perfect fairy-tale from the public’s eyes. But balancing an extraordinary career, embracing motherhood and a growing family may be a lot to handle for anyone. Even so, there’s nothing that TokTi can’t do, of course. After all, she is a superwoman, a beautiful wife, a hardworking mum—she is the one and only ‘Siti Nurhaliza’.
We hope this story will inspire more mummies to always focus on the positives and hopefully feel less guilt internally. A superstar is just like any other mummy and can feel sad when leaving her children behind. Hence, never think there’s anything ‘wrong’ if we are tirelessly working for our kids. Even though some setback from this may mean we may not have all the time to spend with them at present. We are all in this parenting journey together! Stay strong, mummies!
