4 Easy Steps to Get Your Glow Back as a Busy Mum

Have you heard about the Glow Up? If you’ve been on the YouTube sphere and watched influencers doing their thing, you would have come across this phrase. For the benefit of those who don’t, Urban Dictionary defines a “glow up” as an “incredible transformation,” or “to go from the bottom to the top to the point of disbelief.”

Essentially, ‘glow up’ is another phrase for going through puberty, but the glow up process focuses on the improvement of physical appearance, individual style and confidence.

If you are reading this and shaking your head, thinking that glow ups are only for youngsters and not mothers with children, hold up!

*deep breath*

Honey, anyone can go through a glow up, no matter the age.

The question is, do you want a glow up?

If you do, carry on reading because we’ve got your ultimate glow up recipe!

Glowing Up Naturally

A glow up is not something that happens overnight. It does not need to involve plastic surgery, some forbidden beauty pill or any expensive procedures, though some women use it as leverage. We are not going there.

A glow up is a process, and you need to be committed to it. It takes some getting used to and investment in terms of time to take care of yourself, but it will change your perspective on life and how others view you. After all, when mummy is happy, the whole fam bam is happy.

Without further ado, let’s get glowing!

Drink More Water

Women are often insecure about their body weight. If you want to shake off excess weight, start by drinking water. Drinking water may activate your metabolism, and a good metabolism is associated with a positive impact on energy levels. When you feel good about yourself, you feel more confident. That, ladies, is a glow that starts from within.

Plus, water keeps your body hydrated and refreshed, helping maintain your skin’s elasticity. You know how some people, though they are slender, their face can look a little haggard? Dehydration does that to your skin. Just think about it—the human body is made up of 60% water!

People who drink large amounts of water are less likely to suffer from scars, wrinkles, and soft lines, too. If you are spending a lot of facials and steamers without much effect, try water. Those who do will not show as many signs of ageing as those who drink little water.

Get Sweating!

We know, we know, exercise is not everyone’s favourite pastime, but introducing it to your tight schedule may actually gain you more time and aid in your mommy-glow-up.

Exercise can give your skin a slight glow and help your skin look healthier because of the increased blood flow that occurs when you work out. In the 19th century, women would pinch their cheeks to get that pinkish glow. Now, rouge aside, you can get that glow by going up a few flights of stairs.

Exercise is not only great for your physical outlook and the insides, but it also keeps you healthy mentally.

When your mood is good and you are energised, you get work done much faster and more efficiently. On top of that, you get to stay in shape. If you don’t like high-intensity workouts, do something you enjoy. Try a badminton game, go swimming (you can lose weight just sitting in the pool!) or do yoga.

Eat Right

What goes into your body will show. But sometimes, it is a battle between what is good to eat and what is good for the body. Fried chicken and char koay teow are always a ‘Yes, please!’ in my book, but that does not mean I should overindulge in it. Before you go YOLO (Do people still do that?) and think life is too short, eat all the fried food and sweets—we gotta tell you to stop right now, thank you very much.

Your skin is an important element when it comes to your glow up. When you feel better about investing in yourself, your quality of life also increases.

Therefore, treat your skin kindly and optimise your nutrition by eating antioxidant-rich fruit and vegetables, healthy fats from oily fish and nuts, and a varied plus balanced diet.

That should provide optimal nutrients crucial for radiant skin, including beta carotene, vitamins C and E, zinc and selenium. If you are concerned about missing these nutrients in your daily diet, consider essential supplements for that boost!

Follow A Skincare Routine

Last, but certainly not least, is having a skincare routine.

There are two types of skincare routines, morning and night. And while you may be tempted to just quickly wash your face and dump moisturiser on before you get on with your life, the face is pretty much part of the glow up. For both routines, we introduce Wardah’s Crystallure line, made for those looking to glow up!

To guide you through your glow-up-journey, here is what you should feed your skin:

In the AM

  1. Rinse your face with a gentle cleanser or cold water because you must always start with a clean slate. A gentle cleanser will slough dead skin, dirt and bacteria accumulated when you sleep. A good wash enables your skin to absorb the active ingredients of the products you use after.
  2. Prep the skin with Wardah’s Crystallure Supreme Activating Booster Essence, formulated with 10x Gold Peptide Crystals, YouthGlow Active and Matrix Key Molecule. It provides a potent boost and optimises skin rejuvenation for a youthful, more radiant complexion.
  3. Feed your skin with Wardah’s Crystallure Supreme Revitalizing Oil Serum, formulated with a special Active Delivery System. You don’t have to cringe at the thought of rubbing oil on your face, by the way. This oil-based serum absorbs quickly into the skin without the greasy layer. It is packed with Gold Peptide Crystals, Youth Glow Active and seven Botanical Oils, nourishing the skin with extra nutrients.
  4. Conceal the goodness with Wardah’s Crystallure Supreme Advanced Hydra Gel, a refreshing moisturising gel designed with a light, watery texture and concocted with Gold-Peptide Crystals, YouthGlow Active and Triple Hyaluronic Acid, the Supreme Advances Hydra Gel to effectively hydrate and nourish parched skin.
  5. Protect with sunscreen, even if you are staying home all day. It should always be the last step of your routine to prevent skin damage from UV rays. These UV rays are present even in house lights, albeit in small amounts.

  1. To rid your skin from the sunscreen, makeup, dirt and oil your face has accumulated from the day, double cleanse your face. First, use Wardah’s Crystallure Supreme Double Act Micellar Gel. It has micellar technology, cleansing the face in one swipe while providing hydration and freshness to the skin. This soft-gel-textured cleanser contains Gold Peptide Crystals, YouthGlow Active and Chamomile Extract. After this step, use a cleanser of your choice to work deeper into the pores.
  2. Prep the skin with Wardah’s Crystallure Supreme Activating Booster Essence, formulated with 10x Gold Peptide Crystals, YouthGlow Active and Matrix Key Molecule. As above, it boosts and optimises skin rejuvenation for a youthful, more radiant complexion.
  3. Feed your skin with Wardah’s Crystallure Supreme Revitalizing Oil Serum. Though used in the morning, your skin still needs to be fed at night. Formulated with a special Active Delivery System, this oil-based serum absorbs quickly into the skin bringing in the Gold Peptide Crystals, Youth Glow Active and seven Botanical Oils, into the skin.
  4. Treat your skin with Wardah’s Crystallure Supreme Activating Overnight Cream. Night creams are usually heavier than the ones you use in the morning. But contrary to whatever that is in the market, this overnight cream is light, fast-absorbing, and packed with Gold-Peptide Crystals and YouthGlow Active. This luxurious overnight cream boosts skin’s rejuvenation process while you get your beauty sleep, so you can wake up to dream skin. This night cream also contains GranActive Retinoid, a Vitamin A derivative that reduces dark spots without irritating the skin.

You would have noticed that all the Wardah’s products mentioned above contain Gold-Peptide Crystals and YouthGlow Active.

Gold-Peptide Crystals is the latest technology that combines peptides with pure gold crystals, making it 90 times more stable and effective than ordinary peptides in the process of skin rejuvenation.

YouthGlow Active, an active ingredient adapted from compounds produced by microorganisms that can live in extreme environmental conditions, such as sunlight, pollution, high temperature, and free radicals. This natural active ingredient works by forming a layer of moisture that protects the skin from external aggressors, making the skin appear youthful and radiant.

These two main ingredients combined with the other ingredients in Crystallure Supreme Activating Booster Essence by Wardah creates the most effective formulation to combat ageing. Formulated with 10x Gold Peptide Crystals, YouthGlow Active and Matrix Key Molecule, this booster essence provides a potent boost and optimises skin rejuvenation for a youthful and more radiant complexion. These products work from the inside out so that the skin barrier remains healthy. That is not all, it also helps accelerate penetration in the formation of collagen in ageing skin.

But don’t just take our word for granted—try it yourself!
