Bangsar South Restaurants You’ll Love

Bangsar South is a fairly new neighbourhood in Kuala Lumpur, with a busy working community due to the many office blocks. In addition to just the commercial side, there are also many residential apartments. All in all, Bangsar South is pretty self-contained, with its own shopping and dining scene. Therefore, there are many Bangsar South restaurants here that cater to wide variety of tastes. Here are our top picks:

1.Botanica + Co

This is one of the more beautiful Bangsar South restaurants here. You’ll love its fresh and airy interior, complete with lush green potted plants. Botanica+Co specialises in western creations, with several local favourites too. If you’re craving some local favourites, there’s the Botanica Laksa (RM41) which is served with Flower Crab, Tiger Prawns and other seafood.

Vegans and vegetarians will be glad to know that there are many plant-based items on the menu, like the Planet Loving Burger (RM40). Furthermore, every Monday is meatless Monday where even more plant-based meals are on offer.

2. Khan’s Indian Cuisine

Satisfy your cravings for a bit of warmth and spice, and everything nice at Khan’s. Firstly, you’ll be treated to an authentic Indian menu, complete with Tandoori favourites like Lamb Sheekh Kebab, Fish Tikka, and Tandoori Chicken. Also, you can check out their Biryani selections, especially their Tandoori King Prawn Biryani and Lamb Shank Biryani.

Secondly, if you’re stopping here for lunch, you can enjoy their meal combos, complete with rice, naan, chickpea masala, papadoms, fruits and a drink. There are also affordable Thali rice sets, with a variety of vegetable dishes and your choice of chicken, fish or lamb (or a combination of them).

3. Ali, Muthu and Ah Hock

You can’t go wrong with some good old Malaysian favourites. This is why we’ve included Ali, Muthu and Ah Hock, a kopitiam-style eatery that serves all the familiar dishes you grew up with. There’s Nasi Lemak with Rendang Chicken, Mee Soto, Hainanese Chicken Rice and even Lontong.

If you’re here for breakfast, get the classic Malaysian breakfast of Roti Bakar and two half boiled eggs, washed down with some frothy Teh Tarik.

Oiso is the perfect place to stop by for a relaxing lunch on busy days. This is because all their meals are packaged as sets, making it really easy to decide and order. Therefore, all meals come complete with side dishes and a drink while all stews are served with rice too.

Some of the crowd favourites here include their Seafood Ramen, Noodle Soup with Clams. Hot Stone Bowl Bibimbap and Kimchi Stew. Oiso currently has 12 outlets all over Malaysia, so you can trust in their service and food quality.

5. Nyonya Tingkat

Nyonya Tingkat serves wonderful, fuss-free Peranakan or Nyonya cuisine that’s quick and affordable. They also offer many rustic Malaysian dishes. Apart from classic Nyonya dishes like Asam Laksa and Ayam Pongteh with Rice, you’ll find some rare dishes here too. These include Ikan Bakar Portugis (Portuguese Grilled Fish) with rice, Nasi Kemuli Kambing, and Nasi Lemak Daging Hitam.

They also have Nyonya kuih on sale, which you can pick and choose to add to your table as dessert.

There are actually a lot more Bangsar South restaurants than the ones listed here. In fact, Bangsar South is full of eateries that are varied, many of them healthy too. On the weekends, the area is very relaxed and relatively quiet, perfect for families who are looking for spacious areas to spend time together.
