There’s nothing better than sipping your favourite beverage in a garden. Being close to nature has this calming effect on the senses. Furthermore, it makes for great photo opportunities for the whole family. The Klang Valley has many Garden Café spots that are great for taking a break. Here they are in no particular order:

Located on the grounds of MAHSA university in Petaling Jaya, Pokok KL is a glass house café that is set amidst lush greenery. The campus grounds are free for you and your little ones to roam while waiting for your food. There’s even a wall of hanging vines that make for a great photo op.

The food at Pokok KL is mostly western and locally inspired. Therefore, some of their best sellers include their Nasi Lemak Salmon Berempah and Lamb Metball Pasta. They’re also well known for their desserts, which includes specialities like their signature Chocolate Lava, Onde-onde cake and Apam Balik cake.

Plant Meets Art

Finding this garden café in Tropicana Gardens Mall can be a little tricky. This is because it is hidden in the car park area near the carwash. Nevertheless, once you find it, you’ll be greeted by a café covered from floor to ceiling in potted plants.  This family-run café is filled with comfortable chunky wooden tables and chairs which complement the setting.

The place is quiet and peaceful, which makes it perfect for small gatherings and chit chats. Visitors often order their lasagne and nasi lemak, as well as the many cakes on offer.

Brew N Bloom Café

The Brew N Bloom Café is located on the grounds of the sprawling Bukit Jalil Nursery. Therefore, you’ll be able to see plants growing all around you in this al-fresco café. The nursery offers a relaxing area to walk after or before your meal, and you can even buy a plant or two.

The open-air setting of the café means that you’ll be cooled down by the breeze, and can enjoy the ambience of rainy days too.

Those who come here usually order their Signature Prawn Mee and Penang Asam Laksa. They’re also known for their Vietnamese coffee.

Foliage Coffee

Located in a plant nursery, Foliage Coffee is a spacious café that offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Both the outdoor and indoor spaces are covered with hanging and creeping plants, as well as potted plants. It’s an ambience that reminds you of being in a tropical rainforest.

Customers are free to explore the meandering walkways and courtyard here. There’s even a small kids’ play area complete with carpet grass for their safety.

In terms of food, Foliage coffee is well known for their baked products. Therefore, patrons often order their duck or salmon quiche, as well as their Chicken Mushroom Pie.
