Store fresh produce and ingredients
Fresh foods can get spoiled easily. Being a home-cooked meal type of person, I will always stock up on fresh produce and ingredients for at least a week.
One of the methods that I recommend you to use is keeping them in Ziploc® bags before organising and properly storing them in the fridge.
As for meats, instead of keeping them all together in one Ziploc® Freezer bag, I freeze them in a suitable serving portion as I will like to use them for the next round of cooking. This allows me to use just the right amount of meat that I need without having to defrost the whole meat.
Not to mention, a Ziploc® Freezer bag can also prevent freezer burn and keep my meats fresh longer.

Make marinades
Resealable bags are also perfect for marinating food. You can simply put all the ingredients needed to marinate in an appropriate resealable bag. Seal it up and mix the ingredients well with your hands.
Open it up again and put the meat or chicken inside the bag to be marinated. Do not forget to remove as much air as possible before you seal it up again.
Massage the food with your hands until it is completely covered with the marinade. Place it in the fridge and you can simply take it out whenever you want to use it.
What I like about this is that it helps to keep our hands from getting messy and makes the marinated meat taste more flavourful!

Pack diaper bag
Perfect for mummies with babies or young kids, Ziploc® bags can be used to store your little one’s change of clothes and clean diapers.

I do not have a super-fancy fridge that comes with a crushed ice dispenser, so I always do it manually – simply put the ice in a Ziploc® bag and smoosh it with a rolling pin or simply use a pestle. This method is also perfect for when you want to make crumbs out of cookies or crackers.

Pipe icing with precision
Honestly, I have never thought of using Ziploc® bags to pipe icing! I love to bake cakes and cookies for my family during the weekends. So, one day, I ran out of piping bags and worse, I could not find the piping tip that I always use!
I ran through all my kitchen drawers to find any tools that can decorate my cake because there is no way I am going to serve a plain cake… NEVER!
Thanks to my sometimes-super-genius husband, he took out one of the Ziploc® bags and started pouring in the icing into it. He snipped off the corner and voilà, I was able to decorate my cake with ease!
