Who says a mummy of two can’t look beautiful and elegant? We chatted with her recently and asked what are some of the tips she can share with fellow mummies to wear this festive season. Here are some fashion and styling hacks Shuhada shared with us to inspire mummies this festive season:

1. Dress in any way that makes you beautiful to gain and maintain your own confidence. As for me, I try to avoid wearing black coloured long skirts, blouse or outfits. Try choosing non-boring fashion colours. If you insist on wearing black, make it on your accessories or bags, including purses. Black colour goes with anything but not necessarily a must to only wear them on your body.

Going to visit friends and family during Raya season? Wear pink for a change. Mummies can look absolutely stunning and younger when putting on pink coloured outfits. (Image credit: Shuhada Rahmat’s Instagram account)

2. For me, less is more. Ever since I became a mother, I prioritise my time spent on preparing my children rather than styling myself. If I need more time, I will take a maximum of 30 minutes to prepare. I suggest to always pick the headscarves first before choosing the rest of your outfit to wear.

Nothing can go wrong with blue. There are many types of blue hues mummies can choose from: light blue, electric blue or our absolute favourite aqua blue. Don’t worry about folding your headscarves and not being able to show the pattern. It’s all about boosting your confidence when wearing it. (Image credit: Shuhada Rahmat’s Instagram account)

3. No idea on how to dress properly by matching the colours and patterns? Easy, just mix and match your outfits. I love doing mix and match of the clothing together with my children. It will make us look more cheerful and definitely ‘Wowww!’ as we go.

No time to choose the perfect outfit? Perhaps you can mix and match while staying true to the saying ‘less is more’. (Image credit: Shuhada Rahmat’s Instagram account)

4. Any mummies who are breastfeeding but still want to give a little sparkle and glow through fashion? No problem! The most important thing is to make sure the dress our outfits have buttons or a zip in front. You can easily wear them quickly with the right combinations of accessories including headscarves. Oh, wear colourful headscarves if you’ve decided on a plain dress or outfit. This is also vital when you are in a hurry.

Mummies who wish to wear matching outfits during Raya season, our suggestion is to plan ahead. Perhaps three months before the actual date. Not all festive clothing come in the right size. Some may need to alter or get the tailor get them ready for you. (Image credit: Shuhada Rahmat’s Instagram account)

5. Mummies who want to look younger despite having more children can try on soft, pastel colours to boost your confidence. It absolutely works for me! I’m instinctively drawn to bright colours and shades, bringing out the youth in me.
