Sunway is a vibrant area that’s lively and always changing. It’s part of the greater Subang area, where there are many young people due to the presence of several tertiary education institutions. Sunway often hosts some of the latest culinary trends, and this is what makes it so exciting.

However, this time, we’re interested in a Sunway cafe that everyone can visit, and some that offer unique treats.

Garage 51

Garage 51 is located in an area in Sunway where there are many car workshops, hence its name and theme. Its large, windows let in plenty of natural light during the day, and lets you sit and watch the alley at night. In fact, they’re one of the first cafes to open when the trend started about a decade or so ago.

They pride themselves on serving healthy brunch items, so you can check out some popular fare here like their Homemade Granola bowl, and Morning Sunshine toast with sunny side up eggs, bok choy, Enoki mushrooms and pesto.

After Black

After Black is a modern and contemporary Sunway cafe that is just a wonderful place to hang out. It offers visitors a rather spacious area and a menu that features Japanese and Western creations. There are some locally inspired dishes like Cili Padi Seafood Aglio Olio, and Nasi Kerabu with Percik Chicken.

Additionally, the other culinary highlight here is their ramen, which you can have spice or non-spicy, and with beef brisket or chicken. Muslim visitors will be happy to note that they’re pork-free and alcohol-free, too.

Fat Cat is a beautiful and bright cafe located in Sunway Geo. They have a spacious interior as well as an outdoor dining area if you’re more of a fresh air type of person. They serve creative Japanese fusion dishes that include Donburis or rice bowls, ramen and all-day breakfasts.

The great thing about Fat Cat is that they’re vegetarian and vegan friendly, with many plant-based menu items. For example, there’s the Crispy Tofu Vege Bowl, Stir fried vegetarian ramen and Kimchi organic omelette.

Flower Girl Coffee

Flower Girl Coffee is also located in Sunway Geo, in a glass house setting. However, they’re really popular as an event space in addition to being an F&B outlet.

This means that they regularly host birthdays, weddings, engagements and corporate events. Therefore, in addition to just good food and beverages, they’re also expert event planners.

Their menu is pretty international, and there’s something for everyone. Fans of Middle-Eastern food will enjoy their Lamb Chop with Mandi rice and beef kebab wrap, while vegetarians will love their Veggie Tofu burger and Falafel wrap.

There’s even a kid’s menu with items like Gratinated shrimps and a Chicky Roll.

Grey V Cafe isn’t your usual coffee place. For starters, Grey V is a themed cafe, with a prison theme, no less. Therefore, you can expect some really eye-opening decorations filling certain nooks and crannies. Their menu is a lot less intimidating, and you can expect to have a peaceful meal here.

Some highlights from their menu include the Honey Glazed Shrimp rice box, GoChuJang Chicken burger, and the not-to-be-missed Prison Curry Rice Bowl, served in a segmented metal platter.
