Why? Because chocolates make people happy. Chocolates are also nutritious. It is a powerful source of antioxidants and is good for your heart.

Some like it dark and bitter, others smooth and sweet. No matter what your flavour preference, let’s start this special day dedicated to chocolate lovers with a mug of hot chocolate drinks.

Chocolate Coated Cheesecake Bars

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 70 g digestive biscuits
  • 35 g melted butter
  • 280 g cream cheese
  • 30 ml whipping cream
  • 80 ml plain yoghurt
  • 60 g sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 200 g dark chocolate

Instructions

  • Melt butter.
  • Crush digestive biscuits into crumbs.
  • Pour crumbs into a bowl.
  • Mix in melted butter.
  • Press crumbs into bottom of lined baking pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk cream cheese and sugar.
  • Add vanilla extract, egg, whipped cream, yoghurt and continue whisking until smooth.
  • Pour cheese mixture over crust.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 160C for 60 minutes.
  • Cool to room temperature before cutting.
  • Cut into bars or squares.
  • Freeze after cutting.
  • Chop dark chocolate.
  • Melt the dark chocolate in a bowl placed in hot water.
  • Dip frozen cheesecake in melted chocolate.
  • Chill until ready to be served.
