Put A Happy Face On Your Kids With These Easy DIY Smiley Potato Fries

Whenever we dine out, my boys would often request to dine at one particular eatery as it serves this adorable kids bento meal that is served in cool vehicle themed containers. But what they really love about this bento meal is actually the crispy smiley potato fries.

It never fails to put a smile on their faces each time they got a hold of these smiley fries.

However, due to the pandemic, we don’t dine out often anymore. We try to stay at home as much as we can to help break the chain and that means more cooking on my part to feed the kids.

I have to try to keep mealtime interesting as kids can get bored eating the same ol’ same ol’ day in day out, am I right?

The other day, my husband bought a huge sack of potatoes that got me wondering how to quickly use them up before they start sprouting.

Of course, the first thing I did was to bake our favourite potato bun and serve it with a mouthwatering curry. However, I was left with a lot of potatoes that I decide to try out a new recipe – smiley potato fries.

You can basically bake or deep fry smiley potato fries. The ones the boys had outside was fried and I find them to be too oily hence I resorted to baking the ones I made at home.

Would you believe me if I tell you that it is not complicated at all to make them? It didn’t even take up too much of your time especially if you get your kids to have hands-on involvement in the process of making it.

They will enjoy the time spent together making these fun smiley snack for sure.

So let’s try the recipe below.
