Children’s Day is coming up and it’s time to celebrate it with your kids.
There are so many fun activities to do that will give you the opportunity to bond, make memories and even teach them a few things.
Moreover, celebrating this special day may even allow you to celebrate and embrace your own inner child.
Life as an adult can get so serious and boring. And goodness knows everyone needs some inner child healing every once in a while.
Here are some ideas on how to celebrate Children’s Day with your tots.
Shopping
There’s always something that your kids want, or have been asking for a long time before being met with a resounding ‘No’.
Whatever your parenting style, we can all agree that buying toys for kids all the time is a big no-no. Unless they’re educational, of course.
But if there’s one day out of the year to loosen the reigns it’s probably on Children’s Day.
But don’t just limit your child’s shopping spree to toys. You can also take them out for clothes, snacks, books, etc.
Fun Fair
Fun fairs have all the things kids love; entertainment, prizes and, of course, cotton candy.
There are so many fun things you can do with them even it’s just buying some carnival food and watching the bright lights.
Fun fairs are good for older kids who can handle large crowds and big rides. Things like Ferris wheels, bumper cars, carousels, and yes, haunted houses.
All that carnival stuff may be overwhelming for younger children.
But if you’re just taking them out for sightseeing, it’s totally fine.
Water Park
Water theme parks are great for kids because most children love to play in water.
Besides, it could also be a good opportunity for you to have fun too.
And if a swimming pool sounds too boring, a water park is the next best thing. Water slides, river rides and splash pads are all part of the package.
But in the same vein as the previous suggestion, water parks are more suited for older children.
Water can be fun but it can also be dangerous.
So, only take your kids if you’re sure they can handle themselves.
Arcade
If your kids are a fan of video games, an arcade is a good idea.
While not as popular as they once were in the 90s, many arcade centres are still going strong in the country. And many have completely advanced far beyond those game cabinets, race motorbike or virtual pinball machines.
Modern arcades nowadays are decked with the latest VR technology, epic sound systems and AI interfaces.
If your kids are a pro with digital gadgets, they may enjoy these newer high-tech game arcades.
Zoo
Most kids love animals.
One of the first learning books we buy for our kids are usually animal-themed.
So, going to the zoo is an obvious activity that you kids may definitely enjoy for Children’s Day.
There are petting farms, wildlife tours, aviaries, crocodile enclosures, aquariums, and night safaris.
Some zoos even have a children’s section with lots of hands-on activities like fossil searching, bird-watching, face painting, arts and crafts, and puzzle-solving.
There are so many things to see and do, but also many things to learn.
If your child is a fan of animals, then a trip to the zoo is just the thing.
At the end of the expedition, you can commemorate the occasion at the photobooth too!
House Party
If your kids are way too young to do any of the above, don’t fret! We’ve got you covered.
There is nothing safer than a party at your own home.
At least this way, you know your kids are safe.
But if you have an only child, then it may be a bit boring if it’s just immediate family.
So, invite your kids’ friends and their parents as well if you’re able to host.
Otherwise, it’s nice as well if you can rent out a venue.
But if you’re doing it strictly at home, then make it a big thing – get a wall pool, a piñata, a clown, a trampoline, anything that will make it uber fun for everyone who attends!
Celebrate Your Kids
There are many more fun things you can do with your kids on Children’s Day. The sky is the limit!
But you can, of course, ask your kids what they want to do. Within reason, of course.
If they wanted to skydive or go bungee jumping, then you probably would have to say ‘No’. Also, those activities can be quite expensive.
But if you know your kids well and know exactly what they will enjoy, you can surprise them with their favourite place or activity.
So, celebrate your kids this children’s day and give them the time of their lives! After all, you only get to be a kid once. Let’s fill their childhoods with happy memories to the brim!
