Malaysia’s first developed COVID-19 fast antigen testing kit has arrived!
The Salixium COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test by in vitro diagnostics rapid test kits producer Reszon Diagnostic International Sdn Bhd was recently given conditional approval for import and distribution by the Ministry of Health, Malaysia (MOH).

How does Salixium work?
The Salixium COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test is a nasal and saliva swab test. It only takes about 15 minutes to complete, and is less intrusive than an RT-PCR test. Each kit includes single-use swabs, a waste bag for proper disposal, and an extraction buffer tube, for you to insert your nasal and saliva swab samples into after collection.

Salixium has a 91.23 percent sensitivity and a 100 percent specificity. Sensitivity here indicates how often a test provides a positive result accurately, while specificity measures how often a test generates a negative result correctly.
The kit also includes a unique QR code that can be used to report results and track tests using the Salixium and MySejahtera apps. The Ministry of Health, Malaysia (MOH) requires you to record your test results in your MySejahtera app.
Where can you buy Salixium?
The Salixium COVID-19 rapid test has a shelf life of about 18 months and is priced at only RM39.90. It can be purchased at registered community pharmacies and health facilities or online at Motherhood.com.my.
What should you do if you’ve tested positive?
If you are tested positive, you must report to the Ministry of Health, Malaysia (MOH) via the MySejahtera app.
Simply launch the app, navigate to the home screen, and select HelpDesk. Choose: ‘F. I am COVID-19 positive and would like to report my results’. After inserting your personal information, select which test you conducted: RTK Antigen Naso-oropharyngeal or RTK Antigen Saliva.
You must also include a photo of your test result as proof.
If your result is negative, you must still follow the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). This includes wearing a face mask and maintaining social distance at all times.
