Morning sickness, aching body, changes to your physical and mental well-being; all of these can dispirit you and make your pregnancy journey unpleasant.

What would you do, then? It is not like you have control to stop it from happening.

But instead of focusing on that, you can figure out ways to improve your mood during your pregnancy by doing things that make you happy and contented.

Why not we pamper ourselves like a queen so that we can soon give birth to a prince or a princess!

How To Pamper Yourself During Pregnancy?

1. Going a treatment at the spa

By being pregnant means that you will have less time and energy to take care of your hair and skin; let alone doll yourself up for the day like you used to.

Well, with such restrictions, what you can do is you will have to work it out differently.

Why don’t you go for a treatment at the spa and sign up for the services that you would love to try?

It is always great to have a milk bath, facial treatment and manicure and pedicure!

But, of course, you have to make sure that the treatments you are getting are appropriate for a pregnant woman.

Just spend some of your time with the proper budget on this. You totally deserve it!

2. Girls day out

When was the last time you and your best friends had a full day out? You would barely be able to guess when right?

Yeah, it is understandable since once you are a wife and mum-to-be, you already have a lot on hands.

But sometimes you need a change in the environment and the company. Especially with your favourite people!

If you are working, you can take a day off. If you are not, you can talk it out with your husband.

Let the girls keep you company all day long. Go shopping, watch movies and have fun! You can even stay with them for the night.

Look for a place that is refreshing and comfortable for both you and your “girl gang”.

Spend more time to catch up with each other and have a heart-to-heart conversation before you fall asleep.

Such a day surely will boost your mood!

3. Nature retreat

Nature has the power to reset things back to normal. Waterfall, beach, and hill are some of the examples that will give you a feeling that a shopping mall cannot do.

Choose a suitable weekend and book a quick getaway at any place that is “nature-rich” to spend with your partner.

Leave your work and the task behind. Be present, enjoy each other more, and appreciate everything that is around you.

Even if you are not fit enough, you can just stay in your bed. Relax at the resort’s verandah and breathe in the fresh air that will rejuvenate you!

A weekend stay is great, but if you just want to spend a few hours walking along the beach or have a picnic, that would be pretty much refreshing too.

It all depends on the needs of you and your partner. Just try it in any way you want it!

4. Take a day off

Either you are working or not, taking a day off would be nice for you and the baby once in a while.

Inform your employer. And if you are a housewife with children, you can just send them to some kind of childcare centre or under your relatives’ care.

Let it be your ‘alone’ day the whole day. Do whatever you want to do.

Wrap yourself in a comfy blanket and watch a movie, rest and sleep all day, read your waiting-to-be-read books; whatever it is, just do it!

No rules, no limits, no requests, no punching cards, etc. This is your day. It is all about you.

Take a day to laze around and melt away both your physical and emotional weariness. Enjoy your me-time!

5. Join a club

There is a lot of clubs out there for mums and dads to be such as a fitness club for pregnant women.

It is going to be refreshing to join a new circle, meet new people, and get to know each other.

Working out and taking care of your wellbeing in such a way will bring many benefits to you, your partner, and the little one!

And not only that. You can learn a lot of new things that are useful and gain a lot of experience by listening to other stories.

Who knows, by attending the program and going to the club’s meeting would be the moment you are looking for!

Have a talk with your partner and decide on which class or group that you really need. Join THE one that can offer you just what you want.

6. Feast your taste buds

Since you are pregnant, you will need more nutrition for both you and the baby.

But, don’t forget that you are prohibited from eating and drinking certain foods and drinks – such as sugary food and alcoholic beverages.

For someone who used to not have any restriction on their consumption of food, this might frustrate them.

In addition to the things that are going upside down during pregnancy, it is good if you enjoy a nice, lavish meal occasionally.

It is the same concept as a cheat meal.

Just dine in any fancy restaurant, have a meal you like, or throw some cash to be part of a banquet crowd.

Let your taste buds dance with joy!

All the sayings “You just need to stay home,” “Wear a baggy cloth,” “You can just eat this and that,” and etc. – all of these are just some exaggeration for pregnant women.

The process of growing a little human in you is supposed to leave you with unforgettable and beautiful memories.

You might feel like you are not the same person you were before, but let’s try to go through this pregnancy in a good and nice way.

After all, it is for yourself and your little one!
