We know that pregnant women should consume milk, but our bodies seem to have some unspoken ratio we don’t know about. Once we pass the threshold, then we start experiencing uncomfortable side effects.

Half a cup seems fine, but one cup seems too much. Then again, does one cup provide sufficient nutrition for the bones? There must be a required or recommended amount for mothers-to-be when it comes to milk consumption, right?

Does that mean we have to press on and accept the bloatedness and indigestion after milk consumption? It is no wonder why some of us dread gulping down a glass of milk!

But wait, you don’t have to endure it because there is a new option for you!

Introducing A2 Milk

Do you know that there are A1 and A2 Milk Protein?

Now, the difference is in the type of protein that is inside it. We know that milk is high in protein and other crucial vitamins and minerals such as calcium, potassium and vitamin B12, to name a few. However, when we talk about types of milk, we zoom into protein types inside the milk.

There are many types of casein in milk, but we are zooming into two types, the A1 beta-casein and A2 beta-casein—which differ in their structures by a single amino acid (amino acid is a building block of protein).

To put it simply, regular milk has A1 beta-casein and A2 beta-casein, and A2 milk only contains A2 beta-casein.

Most of the milk you can get off the shelves today are sourced from cow breeds that produce a combination of A1 beta-casein protein and A2 beta-casein protein.

Benefits of A2 Compared to A1

Okay, the biology lesson ends above. Now, we will uncover how these A1 and A2 differ in your body.

Depending on if the milk you consume is A1 or A2, the way it is broken down in your tummy are different.

When your body breaks down A1 milk, a chemical component called BCM-7 is released. Several studies hypothesised that BCM-7 may disrupt digestive process and display as lactose intolerance symptoms. Consuming Milk without A1 β-casein may alleviate or prevent the gastrointestinal disturbances associated with BCM-7.

Perhaps, the most observable difference when individuals move from regular milk (containing both A1 and A2 beta-casein) to A2 milk is because it leads to significantly less digestive discomfort after meals than A1 milk. A Chinese study on A2-beta casein found that acute gastrointestinal symptoms of milk intolerance are much reduced compared to those who ingest milk with A1 beta-casein. Most of them did not experience the usual bloating and abdominal pain that comes from drinking regular milk.

Are you expecting? Consider A2 Milk!

Calcium is super duper important when you are pregnant!

You can opt for A2 milk from the start of your pregnancy to acquire all its benefits. A2 milk protein comes with equal goodness of milk as compared to normal milk protein, and the notable difference is, it is gentle to your tummy.

With the morning sickness and cravings, the last thing a woman wants is the development of unpleasant symptoms such as stomach upsets, diarrhoea and flatulence.

For those who are lactose intolerant, most feel that A2 milk causes less bloating when compared to regular milk. Some studies indicate that milk components outside what many believe is from the culprit named lactose, may cause digestive irritation.
