Do you remember the time when you are fearless when you were younger? Growing up, some children have no idea where their comfort zone lied. Some grow up lacking self-esteem. Some masking their own insecurities. So are there any better place for children lacking self-confident to be, than in the shadows of the strong? When it comes to raising kids, there are millions of lessons that parents can teach them. But what’s the most important thing parents can teach their children? It’s not how they can use “big” potty on their own, it’s not how they can shower on their own. It’s self-esteem. Being confident is definitely something children always struggled with. Growing up, parents constantly help their children to approach the challenges they face in school and life. It’s a never-ending worry for parents. We all heard about how parents are concern that their children will be a carbon copy of them; afraid of heights, less confident, and so forth. Children have no ideas where their insecurities come from. Wanting to blend in but not stand out.In fact, having the expensive clothes and toys do not change who they are on the inside. Children start to form their own views and opinions of their own as they grow up. Let your child make mistakes Parents can aid their child’s self-esteem by giving them the chances to practice and master their skills. Let them make as many mistakes as they can to boost their spirit. While they are making mistakes, be by their side and support them in a way that you teach them the correct ways. Because parents are the main source to boost their confidence. Give them responsibilities Parents should give them household responsibilities to raise their self-esteem. Let them make their own bed, sweep the floor or even wash the dishes. In fact, don’t try to improve what they’ve done. These behaviour and teaching skills make them feel more valuable where they can actually complete the task themselves. Let them be the decision maker When your child is able to make their choices at their own appropriate age, they feel more confident. Instead of helping them to make their own decision, be there to advise them on how to tackle the task. There are many ways to solve an obstacle. For instance, playing chess or games, don’t try to interfere their decision or helping them to make the move. Let them learn as they make their own decision.Help them work through problems instead of solving them for your child. At the end of the day, if you as a parent have low self-esteem, take all the possible steps to heal and improve yourself. You are their role model and that's what makes your children look up to you. Raise them to be the future leader on their own. Parents play a big part in raising a happy child and it starts when they are young. Children will someday eventually grow up and live their own lives.
