Since it is officially MCO (again) from 13 January - 26 January 2021, the Ministry of Education (MOE) has taken a step towards electronic medium for the students. As reported by The Star, Perbadanan Kota Buku (PKB) has developed a digital textbook application, known as "KPM eTextbook Reader", enabling schoolchildren to get their textbooks in a digital format. Photo Credit: Astro Awani On Wednesday (January 13), the Ministry said that the application will allow schoolchildren access to digital textbooks when they resume their school sessions from Wednesday to 26 January during the Movement Control Order period. The students can read their textbooks in standard EPUB files, which have rich media content and mobile ability. This application can be downloaded for FREE at textbook.moe.gov.my. Students can write down their notes and key points, similarly to how they use physical textbooks. Another good news about this eTextbook is that the application would allow schoolchildren to access it anywhere, at any time using their mobile phones or tablets - even WITHOUT any internet access! Parents also no need to worry about their child carrying a heavy load of the physical textbook as this one is much lighter than carrying a schoolbag.
