First Dose COVID-19 Vaccination To End This Friday in Perak

Registration for first dose COVID-19 vaccination in the Perak state will remain open only until this coming Friday (Oct 8). Perak Menteri Besar, Saarani Mohamad urges parents and guardians to ensure their children have indeed registered and secured their appointments. The second dose vaccination will continue on from the 10th of October, until all adolescents in the state, ages 12 to 17, are fully vaccinated. “We can confidently say that we are not safe until others have completed their vaccination." — Perak Mentari Besar, Saarani Mohamad. He quoted currently 126,211 students between ages 12 to 17 have registered for vaccination. Amongst these students, a total of 115, 617 (91.6%) have received their first dose of vaccination. Furthermore, a total of 61,853 students aged 17 to 18 years old have registered for their vaccination. Out of those, 59,641 (92.67%) have received their vaccine. On the other note, out of the 64, 358 registered 12 to 15-year-olds, a total of 59,641 (92.67%) have been vaccinated. The Menteri Besar also announced as many as 41 vaccination centres are now catering to adolescents. These centres include schools, vocational colleges, and public vaccination centres within the 12 districts in Perak.
