Ingredients
  

  • fried shallots
  • celery leaves (daun sup)
  • dried tofu️
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cube chicken stock
  • minced meat
  • 6 potatoes
  • black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Slice open the tofu into four quarters making sure the sides stay intact.
  • Remove the insides and set aside for later. You will be left with tofu “boxes”.
  • Boil some potatoes until fork tender and set aside to cool.
  • In a pan heat some oil and sauté the minced beef until cooked.
  • In a bowl mash the cooked potatoes, tofu insides, fried shallots, celery leaves and chicken stock cube, salt, pepper and eggs.
  • Stuff the mixture into your tofu boxes, coat in an egg wash and fry for a few minutes.
  • Serve hot with your favourite condiments.

Ingredients
  

  • meat
  • Holland onion
  • garlic
  • green beans
  • chili pepper
  • carrot
  • turmeric powder

Instructions
 

  • Finely slice aromatics and veggies.
  • In a mortar and pestle grind, garlic and ginger into a paste.
  • Mix with the beef cubes, salt and turmeric powder.
  • Fry without oil under a medium heat until dry.
  • Then add oil and the green beans, carrots, onion, and chilies.
  • Sauté until tender and cooked.
  • Serve with warm rice.

Instructions
 

  • Dice carrots and potatoes.
  • Slice onions and garlic.
  • In a pot boil some water and add the garlic, onion and anchovies.
  • Add carrots and potatoes cook until tender.
  • Stir in half a chicken stock cube.
  • Fish ball, salt, egg, glass noodles, celery leaves, fried shallots.
  • Serve hot or warm as is.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g mutton
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 cloves
  • 5 cardamom
  • 4 star anise
  • 2 green chili
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • coriander leaves
  • 2 chicken cube
  • 1 onion
  • 1 potato
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 carrot
  • cooking oil
  • 1 tsp sugar

Instructions
 

  • Slice the garlic, onion, green chilies, carrot, tomato and potatoes.
  • In a pot heat some oil and sauté the onions, and garlic with the spices until fragrant.
  • Add in two cups of water along with the meat and veggies.
  • Stir in the sugar, chicken stock cube and coriander leaves.
  • Allow to simmer until meat is cook and veggies are tender.
  • Serve as is or with bread.

This traditional dish is perfect eaten with white rice. Much like the previous two dishes, singgang is a type of flavourful soup. It's full of veggies and seasoning and can be a perfect, simple afternoon lunch with the family.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g Ikan Tongkol skipjack tuna
  • 5 okra
  • 1 tamarind slices
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 red chili
  • 2 green chili
  • 1 lemongrass
  • 1 tbsp budu fermented fish sauce
  • salt

Instructions
 

  • Slice garlic, ginger and bruise one lemongrass.
  • Bring a pot of water to the boil on medium high heat.
  • Add in the tamarind slices, garlic, lemongrass, chilies.
  • Allow to simmer for a couple of minutes stirring occasionally.
  • Add in the fish, salt and the budu and stir well
  • Serve with white rice.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • mixed vegetables
  • 1 g beef
  • 1 chicken stock cube
  • spring onions
  • sugar
  • sauce

Instructions
 

  • Slice garlic, onions and spring onions.
  • Dice the beef into small cubes.
  • Sautee the beef cubes until cooked.
  • Add in the mixed veggies, along with the onions, spring onions and garlic.
  • Add in sugar and salt to taste.
  • Beat two eggs and scramble in with the rest of the meat and veggies. This is your filling.
  • In a separate pan, heat some oil and make thin egg crepes. These will serve as your wrap.
  • On a plate, spread some sauce on one half of the egg crepe followed by some of the scrambled egg/beef mixture. Roll as if you would a burrito.
  • Serve hot or warm as is.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 100 g prawn
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • curry leaves
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • turmeric powder
  • salt
  • 4 salted egg yolk

Instructions
 

  • Boil some salted eggs until hard. Remove the hard yolk and set aside.
  • Finely dice the garlic.
  • Marinade the prawns in salt and turmeric powder.
  • Fry prawns in oil until well cooked.
  • In a separate pan, heat some oil under medium heat and sauté the garlic and curry leaves until fragrant.
  • Add in the milk, salted egg yolk bits and stir until thickened.
  • Add back in the fried prawns and stir to combine.
  • Taste for seasoning and add more salt if desired.
  • Serve with white rice.
